Programs for Older Adults

These recreational, social and educational programs are designed to increase the interest of seniors in environmental issues.

Senior Environmental Experiences The Senior Environmental Experiences program, funded by the National Science Foundation, utilizes Internet videoconferencing to connect senior citizens at community centers and extended care facilities to environmental educators in the field to view habitats adjacent to the Meadowlands Environment Center.  The program fosters an ongoing dialogue between the seniors and the educators. Summer Senior Program This summer the Meadowlands Environment Center - a New Jersey Meadowlands Commission facility operated by Ramapo College of New Jersey - is pleased to present for your enjoyment its Senior Summer Program for 2007 “Redefine Yourself at the MEC... dare, dream, explore, expand".    Most Tuesdays, starting in June and ending in August, afternoon or evening programs are scheduled that will intrigue, energize and revitalize your spirit. There will be music, interactive programs and programs that will leave you renewed and yearning for more learning.    For additional information please contact Jane Stein at 201-777-2413.
