Volunteer Programs
Individuals who volunteer their time and talents are valuable assets to the Meadowlands Environment Center. We encourage constructive participation of groups and individuals in our volunteer programs, to perform appropriate tasks under the direction, training, and supervision of our volunteer coordinator.
We believe that community volunteers enrich our program, promote a positive environment, and improve our community relations.
The Meadowlands Environment Center currently operates three Volunteer Programs; Docent, MVP (Meadowlands Volunteer Program) and RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Participants).
| Docent
The Docent Program offers high school students real world, hands-on learning experiences when you assist our educators in the implementation of school and public programs.
The docent program is open to high school students (ages 14-18) who successfully complete the required training. A few exciting opportunities for our docents are; assisting with educational programs, interpretive guides for the Interactive Learning Center and DeKorte Park trail guides.

Retired and Senior Volunteer Participants
The RSVP program encourages people 55 years of age and older to get involved by prompting them to use their skills and life-time experiences to be of service to others.
Discover new friends and the rewards of dedication to a task that builds awareness and enjoyment of our vital ecosystem. Your efforts can help us increase awareness of the resources of the Meadowlands.

Meadowlands Volunteer Program
The Meadowlands Volunteer Program is open to individuals who would like to volunteer their time and talents to the Meadowlands Environment Center for Special Events. From time to time we call on our MVP's to assist the staff with large events. These events are as varied as Run/Walks for different foundations, environmental awareness celebrations, such as Earth Day and National Trails Day and park clean-ups.
