What to do if you experience flooding on your property
If you are experiencing flooding on your property and are in need of immediate assistance call your local police department or dial 911.
Once you have determined you are no longer at risk, you can learn more about possible assistance through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s web site, www.fema.gov or call the agency toll free at 1-800-FEMA (3362).
Property owners or tenants should also report flood incidents to the NJMC for inclusion in the Commission’s Flooding Database, which provides a detailed history of the District’s flood events. Forms can be found at the links below and should be returned to the NJMC’s Floodplain Management Group by fax at: 201-460-8434
For recent flood events use the Hotline Data Form here.
For past flood events download the Flooding Questionnaire here.
Forms must be faxed to (201) 460-8434
