Meadows Path
In 1983, the first master plan for a pedestrian trail system in the Meadowlands, called Meadows Path was developed. Over the years this plan has evolved and been partially implemented. When complete, the 25.5-mile trail will parallel the western bank of the Hackensack River from Losen Slote Creek Park in Little Ferry to West Hudson Park in Kearny. The trail will take advantage of existing trails, sidewalks, and utility service roads to connect population centers and provide access to wildlife areas, scenic overlooks, marshes, woodlands, wildflower meadows, an environmental center, regional parks, boating facilities, ball fields, bus stops, and restaurants. Meadows Path will serve as a dedicated pedestrian artery through nine of the fourteen Meadowlands District municipalities. See the NJMC Green Map which can be found in the document archive.
