RIVERSIDE MARSH (Lyndhurst)

back to list of sites

This 40-acre* site was acquired by the NJMC in 1999 for preservation and management.  The area is undeveloped and is adjacent to an area which has been restored to high saltmarsh (Spartina patens).  The site consists predominately of common reed.

Wetland enhancement at this site will include the control of common reed, the re-establishment of tidal flow, and the creation of open water areas, with planting of native vegetation along the margins of openings.
