The New Jersey Meadowlands Commission recently
received a delivery of tree swallow nest boxes from
Cub Scout Pack 475 of St. Anne’s Church in Jersey City.
The scouts, ranging from grades 1-5, followed NJMC designs
and completed 30 boxes as part of service project.
Each spring, the NJMC places the boxes throughout the
Meadowlands to enhance wetlands sites and provide homes
for the small, blue-and-white metallic birds that migrate
to the region.
